From Pinar del Rio, a asphalt road of 100 km leads via Sandino to La Fé and then to Manuel Lazo .
The road, still asphalt, but with many potholes leads after 35 km to La Bajada, where the small ecological station that welcomes visitors and a military post that issues access permits to the Guahanacabibes Park and Cap de San Antonio are located.
From there, a road leads after 15 km south to the Hotel Maria la Gorda, (where it costs 5CUC just to enjoy the beach during the day). If you are not a diving enthusiast, there is no interest other than the beaches between La Bajada and Maria la Gorda (free of charge).
Going west (only with permission), a 60 km road leads along the coast to Cape San Antonio, then to the (very isolated) hotel of the same name. Here you will see many iguanas, birds and a special flora. Here you are at the end of the island, solitude, calm, beautiful sunsets. Very correct hotel. The park managed by the government is declared "protected area of the biosphere" by UNESCO.
